Leap Into Summer

Well, we just went from 15 degrees below average to 30 degrees above average!  In the 90s today.  I mowed the labyrinth and part of the yard today.  The lilies are growing in leaps and bounds.  The variegated Solomon Seal may be in too hot a spot.  Hostas and the pulmonaria are doing well and the Stella d’Ora love the heat and sun.  It’ll be great when the prairie seeds take hold and show themselves next year.  Wonder where I put the butterfly weed and why didn’t I mark it?  I’m taking Mary W’s advice and laying down newspaper, wetting it and spreading grass clippings on top to kill the grass so I can more easily insert the stepping stones next week.
