Rescue Plants

Rescus Mums in bloom

The thought occurred to me today as I wandered the Labyrinth and noticed that the half dead Mums I bought in late August from HyVee  were actually blooming!  I planted, watered, trimmed, blessed (actually said, “OK, guys and gals you are on your own now.”), and wondered about them this month during the drought we’ve had.  Then, there they are!  Russets, yellow, gold.  Very cool!  I rescued them, the heath asters, people shared their plants as they restructured their gardens, and just got plants from here and there.  So, the 1080 Labyrinth of Recovery and Laughter is also one of rescue – both literally and metaphorically.
