Gratitude

Sun on magnolia tree. Bud, leaves, backlit. Hope and promise at year’s end.

The labyrinth called so I went.  Partway through, I looked across the yard to the house shining in the sun, with the light shadows of the maple cast upon the western edge of the roof.  And, I was grateful:  For this beautiful home and yard, the chickens and bunnies, Faulkes Woods, Rich, our children and their partners, the past workshop, and just was.  I am on a greater journey than I know but occasional insights help me realize there is so much beyond me and yet, within me.  This picture reflects much of this.  The source of all earth energy is obvious. The product is both before the viewer and hidden. .The future is still tightly and safely contained within the fuzzy bud. So, we wind down, wait, plan, stay within the moment. Shadow and sunshine as in Longfellow’s poem.
