How exciting that I just took off walking to walk the 1080 Laughing Labyrinth. Nothing more. While I had asked the Universe to help with a theme and title for the Native American/Columbus Day 2012 Labyrinth Workshop several of us are planning today I just walked and have believed that I will find the theme and title when it is there. Well, today I thought of the R1 power – Recovery – and how much working the Labyrinth has helped and changed me. I do feel recovery from the grief of the past year. R2 – Rescue – indeed I have rescued plants. Some friends have given me from areas they are changing in their gardens and of course there are the marigolds from Hy-Vee that I rescued, chopped off their heads, dug a hole pitched in some water, planted them and said, “You are on your own, guys.” And they all bloomed! Yeah! R3 – Remembrance – is in honor of the Labyrinth at Battery Park created and dedicated on the first anniversary of September 11, 2001. I gathered some seeds and scattered them in the Laughing Labyrinth. And, on the 25th of November as I strode through the labyrinth enjoying the seed pods and heads of autumn, reminisced over this and that rock and root and how the deer leave their hoof prints and the turkeys march through and the wood chuck munched and the chickadee in the tree scolded and how friends have walked it, I realized how happy I was. Bingo. R4 – Rejoicing!
So, Autumn is passing, winter is upon us, a cool weathered root that Rich found from a quarry graces the curves of the Labyrinth, the benches allow people to sit and one has randomly scratched marks in it IA and NJ! How funny is that! Nancy discovered on her walk. And, I am getting ready for a December Solstice Labyrinth walk. So, stay tuned! Rejoice!
